6 Activities to do with your 6 month old.
Finding ways to interact with your 6 month old can be a little difficult. However, it is not impossible, and can be really fun. There are so many ways you can play with your little one while helping them develop motor skills, and getting the one on one attention they crave and need.
Playing Peek a Boo
This is a classic right? This is super fun for your child while giving them attention and helping them work on there hand coordination, ( putting hands to eyes waiting and removing hands.)
Babies also love toys that move! And toys that can play with them.
Read to you baby
It is my belief that one of the best ways to connect with your child is reading to them! It gives the baby/child a chance to sit quiet and listen to you read while also picking up on new words and colorful images. This is a favorite of mine.
Dance with your 6 moth old
Dancing with your baby is super fun, they love the music and the movement. You are sure to love their smiles and giggles. This can be done while you are doing housework or other daily mom chores.
A Motor Skill
Right now my little one hasn’t mastered rolling over yet. So I like to take a few minutes a day and help her roll from back to tummy and vice versa. Most other babies have mastered this by now so if your little one is past this stage you can try helping them stand and sit, or pick another skill to help them be more mobile.
Yes, even a six month old will love finger games. I play ‘this little piggy’ or ‘ten little Indians’ or ‘ ball for baby’ with my little girl and she loves this. Give a few minutes a day and do some finger games, you are both going to love it.
Go for a walk
Who doesn’t love a bit of fresh air? Bundle your baby and take them for a walk. It will be so nice for your little one to escape the house and enjoy some of the beautiful scenery that nature has to offer. It will give you the exercise your body needs while also watching your baby too!
Not only will these activities be fun for your baby but will also be a way for you to connect and soak in the moments that are so fleeting. Your baby is only little once and the time flies quickly. Giving a few minutes a day to these things can help you enjoy it a little more.
