1. I soooo wish I could do this. But, alas, either I procrastinate or I buy something and can’t wait to give the gift! This would be helpful if I could stick to it!!!

  2. What a great idea! I would have never thought of this. I always feel overwhelmed trying to decorate, have family outings, and buy presents in such a short window. I’ll have to keep my eye out for gifts now and start early!

I always say I’m gonna start in June to get my Christmas shopping started. I never do but it sounds like there is so much less stress come December

There really is less stress. Like I said, my mom had 14 kids to get Christmas for. I know if it worked for her it must work:)

  4. Wow I’m going to try this sometime! My mother in law also had a box she put presents in early and that is SO helpful. I’m always so stressed about presents and it’s a huge pull on the budget to do all in December! Great ideas here, thanks!

  5. such a great idea! I forget where I put them too… I take a picture of them and where they are so I know where to look for them! Haha! Thank you, Marnie

  6. Great tip! I definitely shop for Christmas/birthdays/etc. all year round. If I see a great deal, I snatch it up, and keep it in a room in the basement. It definitely saves on stress during the holiday season.

  7. Great post! I start my Christmas shopping pretty much right after Christmas. If I see something that I know someone will love, I buy it and put it in my special Christmas hiding place. I’m usually done by October since I pick up stuff all year. The best part is, since I’m not buying gifts during the holiday season, we can do holiday activities that we wouldn’t have been able to afford otherwise.

  8. I just gave birth to the third kiddo in my little family this year, so I started my Christmas shopping last month to ensure that my kiddo’s Christmas doesn’t see much change. It is so much cheaper to start early, plus, if you pay attention to clearance prices and watch for sales, you can save even more!

  9. This is a wonderful reminder to start on my Christmas shopping…I’ve been wanting to do this for years and I think this might be the year I actually do it! And wow… your mom had 14 children?!? 😳 I have three and they keep me super busy! I can’t imagine having 14…

      Hi Karina,
I would totally try it this year if I were you. It is so worth it! Yes, my mom had 14 kids! no twins or triplets, all single births…and 12 of them were natural deliveries. She is pretty much amazing!

  10. This is an awesome idea. I’ve always started my Christmas shopping around October so I have enough money to buy something for everything but this makes even more sense. The holidays are so hectic. Great post 🙂

Wow, what great tips I always buy gifts n the last minute and I admit that is wrong now I try to look for a gift early.

  12. Thanks for inspiring me to do this! I’ve considered it and husband and I have started to put away funds for Christmas spending, but I have yet to start making any purchases. Personally, I’m going to wait till August since my sons birthday is in July, but I definitely want to have my Christmas shopping over and done with early this year in an attempt to make the holidays feel a little less stressful.
