Searching for some baby teething solutions and tips for your fussy infant? Are they experiencing crying, drooling, gnawing? You have come to the right place. Yup, time for those pearly whites to make their entrance! After having a few kids, I have been able to master some ways and a few miracle items –wink- to comfort a baby who is having trouble cutting those chompers.
Babies teeth at various ages, some babies can start teething within the first couple months of being born. However, most babies start somewhere between 4 and 7 months old. It can raise questions as to weather your baby really is teething. So here are a few things to look for.
Here are a few signs you can watch for if you are unsure if your baby is experiencing teething.
A teething little one often turns into a temporary mouse. Ha, they love to chew on everything! Your fingers, toys, their little fists, pretty much anything they can get their hands on. This is awesome though, all that work on their gums is helping those teeth push up and out.
If you are hearing more crying than usual from your baby this could be a sign they are teething. After all, they are experiencing a lot of pain and discomfort in the mouth. This one usually accompanies another symptom. If your baby is just crying extra but no drooling or gnawing etc., they may be trying to communicate that something else is bothering them.
A low grade fever is a good sign of teething too. Although, if it gets high you will definitely want to call your doctor. Sometimes a little infant pain and fever medicine helps. ( Always talk with your doctor first.)
Teething Miracle Items That Actually Work.
I call these miracle items because they have done wonders in comforting my teething kids. If you are serious into helping your baby feel better you should try some of these, they are great.
First and far most used in my house for teething are these amazing teething tablets/gel.
They are my go to for teething. This is also a natural method. It comes with a dropper so super easy and it not only works great for teething but for colic as well. Kid E. COL is so amazing, I have used it with all of my kids. and my mom used it with all of hers. It is a family favorite.
I have used a lot of teething toys through the years. But there are a couple that are serious winners and are a choice I would go for before others. First is a toothbrush. I have used a normal one, but it can be super dangerous if you don’t have a constant eye on your little one. So I would suggest one like this corn cob teether. It is a certain length so your baby doesn’t shove it too far back when it’s in their mouth.
I thought this one was the weirdest looking thing, but after another smart mom had my little girl try it one evening. I saw how amazing it really was despite its ugly features. If you are looking for something your baby will love chewing on, I would highly recommend this RaZ-Berry silicone teething pacifier. All those little bumps feel so good on their sore gums. And my little girl didn’t want to return it at all!
Tips for the ‘money is tight mom’
There are a few other things you can try if you can’t afford one of the miraculous teething methods I just mentioned.
You can try a ring for your teething baby. You can find these in about any dollar store. I haven’t liked them as much because my kids can’t get them in their mouths far enough to reach the molars. What will work for one mom doesn’t necessarily need to work for the next.
I will crush some ice up and give my babies a few pieces here and there, they love this. The cold will numb up there gums a bit, giving them a little relief.
Wetting a clean rag and letting them chew on it is a great method as well. Wet and cold feels good and gives their gums something with a little bounce to chew on.
All these things have done super well with my kids, and have given them the relief they need. And BONUS-will give you relief knowing your teething baby feels top-notch. Feel free to comment any other ideas I may have missed. If your little one is uncomfortable with teething pain give these awesome tips a go around.
