Doll/Toy Strollers DIY Recover
There is not a feeling in the world better then realizing something you have done for your kids has made them genuinely happy. Little did I know that my sons favorite run around toy – a small doll stroller – would trigger this. I bought both my boys a baby doll, and a doll stroller like this for Christmas, and let me tell you, I would recommend this to anyone with a toddler! Boy or Girl. They love them. There is not a day that goes by that they aren’t pushing these around the house. and that’s why they looked like this.Very loved.
So if your looking for a gift idea, here is a great one. I experienced such a feeling of joy a few nights ago I thought my heart could burst. I never felt this feeling as strong as I did then. And all from a doll/toy stroller? Let me tell you how it all happened…
The frustrations of fixing a doll/toy stroller.
After spending what felt like hours on two toy stroller covers for my little boys, I got frustrated because they just weren’t turning out like I wanted them to. It was taking so much time. And the green eyed monster somehow found its way in. I felt a little jealous because other moms I knew personally had so much talent when it came to seamstress work. Why couldn’t I be talented like them? I also felt like my boys were going to hate the work I had done on their favorite toys.
My husband had come in while I was sewing. I did my regular complaint of pointing out all the things that had gone wrong with the sewing. He stated that I was the kind of person who needed to get it done right the first time because I didn’t want to go back and fix my mistakes. This is true! If it’s not done right the first time, It wont be done again. (something I need to work on.) He however complimented me on my work and thought they looked great. So I finished up the strollers. They weren’t too terrible looking. but this didn’t make me feel a lot better because I knew they weren’t perfect like I pictured they would be.
The best feeling a mom can get…make your child happy.
It was probably about 11:00 PM when Wyatt (my 3 year old) woke up and was wide awake and ready to play. Ugh, isn’t it interesting kids do that to us mommies. My husband and I were already awake watching the new Pete’s Dragon ( so cute by the way!) Wyatt Snuggled in with us to enjoy the movie as well and I love the extra cuddles I get with my kids. Wyatt’s eyes had wondered from the TV and found his newly redone stroller. He crawled out of bed quietly and made his way over to the toy. My husband nudged me, He wanted me to see what I was missing. There Wyatt was, silently touching his newly fixed stroller with a small smile on his cute little face. I could tell he was so happy. This is exactly the feeling I was talking about only this time it was stronger.
Doll/Toy Strollers make Impressions
Me this mom right here. I had made something that brought a smile to my little ones face. And now, seeing him play with that stroller brings a smile to my face because I know my little boy is happy with it. Perhaps this left such a huge impression because I realized I didn’t have to get jealous or frustrated, he is the only person I needed to impress.
Lesson learned and it makes me happy.
I’ve come to the realization that I am not a seamstress! I can’t sew very well at all! But I can tell you that if you put a little effort into something as small as fixing your toddlers favorite toy, it honestly does not need to be store quality and perfect. It can be in tatters and look a mess. Your child will love it no matter how it looks because it came from mommy.
As much as we as mothers, fathers, siblings, etc. want to impress all our family, friends, or even our spouse, in this instance it only comes down to making our children happy. And boy did I get that feeling of overwhelming joy seeing my little boy happy. All this came from just fixing a toddlers Doll Stroller.
